Political analyst Andrew Korybko says that the United States did not end the Cold War with Russia in 1991 despite the official ending of the dispute between Washington and Moscow.

“The United States never stopped,” the Moscow-based journalist told Press TV on Wednesday. The Cold War “is already going on.”

He made the remarks when asked about US House Resolution 758.

Former US congressman Dennis Kucinich wrote in an article that the House of Representatives is about to give a green light to another Cold War against Russia.

Kucinich, former US Representative from Ohio, said that Washington has plans for restarting the Cold War against Moscow.

House Resolution 758, which cited a list of "grievances, old and new, against Russia" is "tantamount to a 'Declaration of Cold War'," Kucinich wrote.

Kucinich believes that if the resolution gets approved, it will effectively open the gates of global catastrophe.

Ties between Washington and Moscow have been deteriorated over the crisis in Ukraine.

The United States accuses Russia of sending troops into eastern Ukraine in support of the pro-Russian forces, an allegation denied by the Kremlin.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that there are no Russian troops in eastern Ukraine.

The Obama administration has imposed several rounds of sanctions against Moscow over the crisis.
