The Iranian official made the remark in a meeting with Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe in Harare.
The international community should show determination to end the spread of insurgency in the region, Amir-Abdollahian said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has played a key role in regional and international developments and proved it can be seen as an accountable country, Mugabe noted.
The Zimbabwean president also called for expansion of ties with Iran and emphasized on his country’s support for the Iranian rights to pursue its peaceful nuclear program.
Iran has striven hard to maximize relations with the African continent. The country is also an observing member of the African Union and has shown an active presence in previous African Union summit meetings.
