The remains of 15 bodies have been recovered from a shallow mass grave in Sulaiman Bek, some 150 kilometers (95 miles) north of Baghdad.
The victims are believed to be 15 Shia truck drivers kidnapped about three months ago by ISIL Takfiri terrorists who seized the town during their blitz offensive in June.
The grave was found after Iraqi security forces and volunteer fighters drove out the ISIL militants earlier this week.
The bodies had each been shot in the head.
The excavation was carried out by volunteers and nurses based on information provided by local residents and families of the victims.
