An Israeli Hermes spy drone has reportedly crashed in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad near the airport.

Following the Wednesday crash of the unmanned Israeli aircraft, a team from the US Embassy in Baghdad rushed to scene to collect remains of the surveillance drone, Al-Mayadeen News Network reported, citing news sources.

Meanwhile, according to the report, Iraqi army and police forces stated that they have no information about the circumstances of the crash and did not allude to whether any investigation into the incident was being conducted by Iraqi authorities.

The Israeli drone crash in Baghdad comes just days after another Hermes spy aircraft was shot down by Iranian air defense forces of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) near the country’s nuclear region of Natanz.

Yet another Israeli Hermes drone crashed in the Gaza Strip in early August while Zionist forces were engaged in a brutal onslaught against the besieged Palestinian enclave.

The Israeli medium size multi-payload unmanned aerial vehicle is designed for tactical long endurance missions.
