An army unit foiled an intrusion attempt on Sunday by insurgent elements to infiltrate into a military post in the Medakha and al-Sundus areas in Khan al-Shih in Damascus Countryside, Syrian state news agency SANA reported.
The army unit also destroyed insurgent staging ground and a number of their vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns and carrying numerous armed militants, mostly non-Syrians.
Another army unit, the report added, thwarted insurgent attempts to attack a military post to the east of al-Salam highway in the area and destroyed a number of vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns, killing all terrorists inside them.
Government troops also killed a number of terrorists in Deir Ezzor on Sunday, injuring others and destroying their weapons and ammunition.
Army units further targeted insurgent staging areas in the neighborhoods of al-Howaiqa, al-Jbeileh, al-Arafi, and near al-Siyaseh Bridge, and Howaijeh Kate’a in the city.
Meanwhile in the outskirts of Homs, Syrian forces killed and injured a number of terrorists in several villages and towns, foiling their attempts to infiltrate towards Ahrash Kafarnan.
Army units also foiled another intrusion effort by terrorists towards Burj Qa’ai in Ahrash Kafarnan in Homs countryside, eliminating a number of the armed elements.
Also on Sunday, Syrian forces further targeted insurgent hideouts and staging grounds in the outskirts of Idleb , inflicting heavy losses on enemy forces.
This is while a military source was cited in a SANA report as saying that the army units destroyed a terrorist hideout in Abu Duhour town in the Idleb countryside, killing a number of the armed elements and injuring others.
Army units also killed and injured many terrorists who were attempting to sneak towards Abu DuhourAirport and destroyed their military equipment.
The source further stated that other army units eliminated scores of terrorists in Maar Belet, al-Baraghithi and the area surrounding al-Shababiyeh barrack and destroyed their weapons and ammunition.
Units of the Syrian armed forces also destroyed three of the terrorists’ cars, killing all terrorists inside them between Sa’sa’ and the farms of al-Hinnawi and al-Najjar and Beit Saber in Quneitra Countryside.
Government troops also targeted insurgent hideouts and staging areas in a number of areas in Daraa and its countryside, foiling insurgent efforts to infiltrate into safe areas.
A Syrian military source told SANA that the army units foiled insurgent attempt to sneak from Khurbet Sarghaya to safe areas in Zamreen in Daraa countryside and from Khrab al-Shahem to al-Yarmouk Suburb in Daraa, killing and injuring scores of them.
The source added that other army units stormed insurgent hideouts and staging grounds in the area surrounding al-Alaqiyeh hill, al-Lajat, Busr al-Hareir and al-Na’aimeh in the countryside and in the area surrounding al-Abbas Mosque and Om al-Daraj, Katakit building, al-Masri roundabout and Jordan Street and Daraa al-Balad.
