An Australian newspaper published the photo of the seven-year-old boy, saying he was holding the severed head of a Syrian soldier slain by his father, Khaled Sharrouf.
The photo was posted with the words, “That's my boy!”
Sharrouf, an Australian-born member of ISIL, has posted numerous photos of himself holding severed heads of the victims on his Twitter page.
According to the report, Sharrouf who originally hails from Lebanon lived in the Australian city of Sydney. He , along with his wife and son, joined ISIL militants in Syria last year.
In 2005, Sharrouf was detained on charges of attempting to carry out terrorist attacks in Australia and sentenced to four years in prison.
After being released, Sharrouf came under police scrutiny due to a number of serious accusations made against him and his passport was confiscated.
According to the Australian police, Sharrouf has used the passport of one of his brothers to leave the country to Syria.
