This is while the Palestinian resistance fighters put the death toll among Israeli soldiers at more than 130.

Israel and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas have agreed to an unconditional 72-hour ceasefire which took effect at 8:00 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) on Friday.

However, reports say the Israeli regime resumed its offensive this morning despite the truce deal, prompting Palestinian resistance fighters to fire retaliatory rockets into the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories.

Palestinian sources say at least dozens of people had been killed and many others injured after Israeli warplanes bombed the town of Rafah in the south of the coastal enclave shortly after the ceasefire took effect.

At least 1,460 people, mostly civilians, have lost their lives and some 9,000 others have been injured in the Israeli regime’s military offensive against the Gaza Strip since July 8. On July 17, thousands of Israeli soldiers launched a ground invasion into the densely-populated strip.

The toll from the latest Israeli offensive against Gazans has surpassed that of Tel Aviv’s 22-day war on the blockaded Palestinian sliver in 2009, in which up to 1,450 Palestinians were killed.
