ISIL using brute means to crush Iraqis: Amnesty International

Amnesty International says it has evidence of spiraling killings and abductions at the hands of ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Iraq.

The Britain-based group described the ISIL's assaults on Iraqi civilians as atrocious, saying the militants are using abduction and murder as key tools to crush people.

"Abduction and killings of captives seem to be among the key tools used by the group to crush opponents and intimidate civilians," said Donatella Rovera, the senior Amnesty adviser said during a briefing.

The group also says it has gathered evidence showing the militants abduct people in every single village or town they overrun.

"ISIL is continuing to overrun villages in northern Iraq that were left unprotected since the Iraqi army left a month ago," added Rovera.

The rights group also says it has documented a series of incidents where militants deliberately killed those whom they'd captured.

Amnesty International says the ISIL group continues terrorizing civilians across Iraq, provoking mass displacements.

The rights group says hundreds of thousands have fled their homes in Mosul, Iraq’s second-biggest city, fearing abductions and killings. The city's been under militant control since last month.

The ISIL Takfiri militants also issued several statements in recent days calling for the destruction of all religious and historic sites in the country.

Recently, several gruesome videos were released, purportedly showing members of the ISIL Takfiri group brutally killing Shia Muslims in drive-by shootings in Iraq.

The terrorist groups have links with Saudi intelligence services and are believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has also blamed Saudi Arabia and Qatar for the security crisis and growing terrorism in his country, denouncing Riyadh as a major supporter of global terrorism.
