Reports say Syrian forces repelled the attack on key checkpoints in the troubled region on Friday and targeted several targets of militant groups within the area.

The report added that the militant groups have already announced immediate ceasefire following the fierce attacks exerted by army troops in the city of Maarat al-Numaan and surrounding areas.

The Syrian army is also making progress in its operation to retake control of northern fronts in Idlib to pave the ground for further infiltration to terrorist groups’ strongholds. Bruma fields are the main location of struggles between army troops and militants.

Syrian forces on Friday also advanced into some nearby areas including Zobeyda, Rasm al-Halbeh and Ein al-Dorb in nearby Qanitareh city.

Meanwhile, Syrian army has rejected rumors circulated by some news channels concerning the domination of militant groups over the mentioned areas.

The army has eliminated a large number of terrorists and dismantled explosive devices in its operation in Qanitareh city.

Syrian government says its troops are going ahead with their operations to push out the foreign-backed militants from residential areas across the country.

Takfiri groups have recently stepped up their fatal attacks against civilians as Syrian army soldiers have made further gains in their fight against the foreign-backed militants.
