A horrifying video, circulated on the social media, shows ISIL militants storming a house belonging to a Shia family and abducting its residents.
The faith of the abductees is unknown.
ISIL has been posting pictures and videos of their assault in Mosul, Tikrit and Kirkuk, some of them showing bodies of Iraqi soldiers cut into pieces.
The militants have already executed at least 15 Iraqi soldiers they held captive after attacking Mosul on Tuesday.
Local Iraqi newspapers say tens of people have been executed by ISIL, including Shia Muslims, Christians and other sectarian minorities.
A state of emergency was declared in Iraq after ISIL militants took control of Nineveh province and provincial capital Mosul on Tuesday, forcing over 500,000 people in and around the city to flee.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has asked the UN, the European Union, and the Arab League to help the country fight the terrorists.
Violence has been also raging elsewhere in the country with bombings and shootings across Iraq.
Iraq’s Interior Ministry has said that militants have launched an open war in Iraq with the aim of pushing the Middle Eastern country into chaos.
