The military aid package comes in as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2015 lobbied by pro-Israel Republicans that dominate the House.

The new law stipulates as much as $350.9 million for Israel’s Iron Dome missile system and $268.7 million for its David's Sling and Arrow 3 missile programs.

As an amendment to the NDAA reads, the adoption of the new will clearly underscores that it's "the policy of the United States to take all necessary steps to ensure that Israel possesses and maintains an independent capability to remove existential threats to its security", adding the US is also to defend Israel's vital national interests.

Israel has already spent US aid through 2018.

Under a current 10-year deal with Israel -- signed in 2007 by the previous administration-- $3 billion of American taxpayers’ money is flowing to Israel every year.

Israel is reportedly pressing the incumbent Democratic administration for an increase in Washington’s military aid after 2017 when the current deal expires.

A US official briefed on talks over an increase in US military told Reuters this month that Israel is seeking an overall increase to between $3.2 billion and $3.5 billion a year.
