In Saturday operations, government troops targeted insurgent staging areas of Kafr Najd, Nahlia, al-Alieh, al-Badriyeh, al-Rami, Kfarhaia and Dahret al-Qamou' in the outskirt of Idleb, leaving many armed intruders dead and wounded and destroying their military equipment and weaponry, Syrian state news agency SANA reported.
This is while in the northern city of Aleppo army units thwarted another intrusion attempt by armed militant groups from Khan Touman area towards safe regions of the city, killing and injuring all of the intruders.
Also in Aleppo city, other army units killed a number of terrorists and destroyed their weapons in al-Rashidin, Gharbi al-Zahraa Bani Zaid, al-Kastilo and Hanano neighborhoods.
Meanwhile, Syrian forces killed and injured numerous insurgents and destroyed their vehicles in the villages of Marea, al-Mesilmiyeh, al-Atareb, Akhtarin, Tal Refa'at, Tal Sosiyan, Tal Jibin, Daret Ezza, Sma'an Citadel, Kafer Karmin, Deir Hafer, Kafer Hamra, al-Jabiyieh, Dahret Abded Rabbouh and the industrial city in Sheikh Najjar in Aleppo countryside.
Citing a military source, SANA further reported that Army units also killed and wounded armed insurgents, including eight leaders of militant groups in al-Bahhar cemetery, al-Jumrok al-Kadeem and journalists building in Daraa al-Balad.
According to the report, Palestinian terrorist Ammar Abu Sareyya, the leader of the so-called Liwaa al-Tawheed terror group was identified among those killed in the operation by government troops.
Furthermore, Syrian forces foiled yet another infiltration attempt by armed elements from al-Dar al-Kabeera in Homs countryside in a bid to overtake a military checkpoint.
Also in the outskirts of Homs, army units eliminated many insurgents operating in Talbeisa and Ersal areas.
