Four citizens were killed and 17 others injured in the capital city of Damascus on Saturday after an explosive device planted in al-Tahwra Street of the city went off and mortar rounds struck the city’s al-Tijara and al-Amara neighborhoods, state news agency SANA reported.
Citing a source at the Damascus Police Command, the report added that the blast of the device planted near the Hanano Hotel killed three and wounded 17, including a child and further inflicted material damage to the area.
Furthermore, a woman was killed when a mortar round fell near the al-Faihaa Park in al-Tijara area, also causing material damage.
The other mortar shell landed on top of a building in al-Amara section of the town, inflicting material damage but no casualties.
The other two civilians were killed and 13 more wounded in Aleppo city neighborhood when foreign-backed insurgents targeted the area with mortar shells.
The mortar rounds, according to the SANA report, struck the neighborhoods of al-Hamadaniye, al-Jamiliye, and al-Midan, also causing material damage to homes, private properties and vehicles.
