Ahmed Moshai’el, a former Syrian army officer who deserted the force and became a senior FSA commander, was killed by ISIL elements in a suburban area of Idlib four days after his reported disappearance.
According to the report, Syrian opposition websites also announced that the corps of “Brigadier General Ahmed Moshai’el” was found with bullet wounds.
Meanwhile, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported Saturday that army troops have continued their advances in the strategic border town of Yabroud, gaining total control over the heights overlooking the town’s southeastern section and other suburban areas of the town.
Yabroud served as one of the key supply and infiltration points of the insurgent from Lebanon.
Syrian army units have also conducted mop-up operations around the major city of Aleppo, killing and wounding numerous insurgent elements and destroying their weaponry and ammunition.
