Rouhani made the remarks on Saturday while receiving credentials of new Qatari Ambassador to Tehran Ali bin Hamad al-Sulaiti.
The Iranian President underlined that Tehran is fully ready to promote all-out relations with Doha.
Rouhani said the Middle East region was in critical condition, adding that good relations between neighboring countries can have an important effect on the future of the region.
“Wise actions by regional leaders can safeguard and guarantee the interests of [regional] nations,” Rouhani stressed.
The Qatari envoy, for his part, conveyed the greetings of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to President Rouhani, saying that Doha is keen to develop ties with Tehran and its officials hope for a brighter future in the relations of the two countries.
Rouhani held a separate meeting with the new Omani Ambassador to Tehran Saud bin Ahmed bin Khalid Al Barwani on Saturday, during which he welcomed the development of Tehran-Muscat ties, particularly in the economic sector.
He noted that Iran-Oman cooperation can contribute to regional stability.
The Omani ambassador, for his part, conveyed the greetings of Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said to Rouhani and welcomed further expansion of ties with Iran.
