About 2,000 people were evacuated in the northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis because of a bomb threat, French Le Parisien reports this Monday.

The decision to conduct the evacuation was made after a call to the police about an allegedly planted bomb at the Paris VIII university.

People were evacuated from several buildings within a hundred meters, including students of two other schools . Traffic current was stopped. Dog handlers arrived at the scene to seek out the explosive device.

Earlier in December 15, 2013, Venezuelan officials evacuated passengers from an Air France commercial jet airliner due to depart to Paris after French authorities warned of a potential bomb threat.

French intelligence services said that "a terror group would seek to place a bomb, to blow it up on a flight between France and Venezuela."

However French officials did not list any suspected group and gave no indication as to a possible motive.
