Samiyeh Baluchzehi (26) has been elected by Sarbaz City Council in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province (southeast) as the city’s mayoress, al-Alam reports.
She is the first woman of the ethnic Baluch minority elected to the post.
Baluchzehi has studied natural resources science in the capital Tehran and returned to her hometown to contribute to its development and construction.
