During the Saturday incident, the students also set a faculty building ablaze.
The fresh violence came a day after five people were killed and dozens wounded across Egypt during clashes between security forces and Morsi supporters.
Riot police fired teargas and used water cannons to disperse protesters as the violence broke out in Cairo and spread to at least four other cities.
The demonstrations in Egypt follow an announcement by Egypt’s interim authorities on December 25, saying that they view the Muslim Brotherhood movement as a “terrorist” group.
Tensions have been running high in the country since Egyptian military ousted Morsi in early July. Hundreds of protesters, mostly Morsi supporters, have been killed and wounded during deadly clashes that broke out following the ouster.
The army also dissolved the parliament, suspended the constitution, and appointed head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, Adly Mahmoud Mansour, as the country’s interim president.
