Iran unveils biggest home-made drone

Iran has unveiled a new home-made “Fotros” Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with a range of more than 2,000 kilometers.

The new drone, which is the biggest UAV produced by Iran, was unveiled by the Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan in the central city of Isfahan on Monday.

The drone has been built by the Defense Ministry's Air Industries can fly for more than 2,000km for 30 hours non-stop.

The drone can be used both for reconnaissance missions and military purposes.

The UAV can also be equipped with missiles and used for aerial bombardments as well.

Over the past years, Iran has made important breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems.
