Seven Israeli warplanes have violated the Lebanese airspace just hours before Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah made one of his rare public appearances.

A Lebanese Army communiqué said six fighter jets flew over various areas of Lebanon 9:15 a.m. Thursday before heading back toward Israeli-occupied territories about an hour later.

An Israeli reconnaissance aircraft also flew over Beirut, Baabda and south Lebanon between 3:50 p.m. and midnight, the statement added.

Lebanon observed the religious holy day of Ashura Thursday and Nasrallah, the Hezbollah chief, made a rare appearance in the southern suburb of Beirut, vowing to continue fighting in Syria.
