Egyptian security forces have arrested head of Al Alam bureau in Cairo after attacking his home on Thursday morning.

According to Al Alam reporter in Cairo, security forces attacked Ahmad al-Siyoufi and took him to an unknown location.

This is the second time in the past couple of months that al-Soyoufi has been arrested by Egyptian police since the army toppled the government of president Mohamed Morsi and set a new government.

Soyoufi was arrested on July 20th the first time.

Egyptian authorities have shut down several stations, including one operated by the Muslim Brotherhood, after Morsi was toppled.

Egyptian army has been tightening the grip over several media including Qatar’s Al Jazeera which saw its journalists expelled after they were accused of having ties with the Muslim Brotherhood.
