Protesters in Egypt have held a demonstration in Cairo's Tahrir Square to show their angry about the military rule in the Arab nation.

Around 100 demonstrators gathered in the symbolic square on Tuesday, chanting "down with military rule!"

Police arrived to disperse the crowd and limited skirmishes erupted between the demonstrators and local residents and street vendors as the rally reached the square.

No injuries were reported.

On July 3, Egypt’s Army announced that President Mohamed Morsi was no longer in power. They also dissolved the Egyptian constitution.

The Chief Justice of Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court, Adli Mansour, was sworn in as interim president on July 4.

Since then, Egypt has been the scene of rival rallies and clashes between the supporters and opponents of Morsi.
