Zionist settlers in the Old City of al-Quds (Jerusalem) have attacked two teenage Palestinian girls, punching them in the face.

The incident occurred on Saturday when, according to local resident Abu Yousef Abu Irmeleh, three settlers attacked his 13-year-old daughter, Thikra Ahmad, and his niece, Ghada Mahmoud, whose age was not given, Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported.

Abu Yousef further explained that the two girls were passing through the Jewish Quarter of the Old City when they came under attack by the settlers and punched in the face.

The attack, according to the report, was caught on camera.

Another witness, Abu Jamal, said that he saw the two girls near the Chain Gate crying and visibly frightened. He asked them why they were crying and the girls said they had come under physical attack by Zionist settlers.

Another witness, Abu Yousef, further insisted that Palestinians are attacked on a daily basis by Israeli settlers while passing through the Jewish quarter.

These attacks, according to local residents, take many forms, including verbal assaults, throwing of garbage, or physical assaults.

In another development on Saturday, Israeli forces handed notices to several residents in the al-Sadiyya neighborhood in Jerusalem's Old City, giving regime forces authorization to access the rooftops of their houses, Ma’an reported, citing local residents.

According to witnesses, Israeli forces entered several homes and handed homeowners the notices, threatening to arrest anyone who refused to grant them permission to use their rooftops.

This is while Jerusalem's Old City sits in East al-Quds, a part of the internationally recognized Palestinian territories.

The area has been under Israeli occupation since 1967, and the regime unilaterally annexed East al-Quds in 1980. Approximately 200,000 Zionist settlers reside in the area, in violation of the international law.
