The talks between Nasrallah and Alaeddin Boroujerdi focused on developments in the region particularly related to Syria and Lebanon.
The short statement issued by Lebanese party said the meeting was also attended by Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ghadanfar Roknabadi. For security reasons, Hezbollah did not say when or where the meeting took place.
Boroujerdi also met Tuesday with Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour and said Israel would be the most affected by a strike on Syria.
“The first party that will be most affected from an aggression on Syria is the Zionist entity,” the Iranian official told reporters following talks with Mansour.
Boroujerdi said he shared the same views as Mikati and Mansour regarding the threats and dangers to the Middle East region posed by U.S. “conspiracies” against the security and stability of Lebanon, Syria and countries in the region.
He said his views matched with both Mikati and Mansour as to the "need for unity in order to spare the region this anticipated catastrophe.”
Following his meetings in Beirut, Boroujerdi travelled to Beiteddine, the president’s summer residence in the Chouf Mountains, for talks with the Lebanese leader.
During the meeting, President Michel Sleiman stressed the dangers that could result from a military strike on Syria, a statement from the president’s office said.
“Sleiman renewed Lebanon’s fundamental principle which calls for non-military intervention while condemning the use of chemical weapons [in Syria],” the statement said.
On Monday, Boroujerdi also warned that a military strike on Syria would engulf the entire region and threaten American and Israeli interests.
Boroujerdi, arrived in Beirut on Monday after two days of talks in Syria and went into separate talks with Speaker Nabih Berri and Premier-designate Tammam Salam.
