On Friday, Ban only criticized rocket fire from Lebanon that landed in northern part of the occupied territories the day before.
He urged "all concerned to exercise maximum restraint, and cooperate with UNIFIL in order to prevent an escalation," read a statement released by his spokesperson.
Ban said he was "greatly concerned" by the incident, "which is a clear violation of Resolution 1701" passed in 2006.
The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon is investigating the incident alongside the Lebanese and Israeli armies, and the international body "is committed to continuing to work with the parties to ensure that the calm that has prevailed continues to be sustained," the statement added.
Israeli air force violates Lebanon’s air space almost on a daily basis but the international community refuted to take action on the issue.
