A most wanted al-Nusra commander has been killed during anti-terrorist army operations in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor.

Imad al-Ahmad al-Hamd who was leading al-Nusra operations in eastern city of Deir ez-Zor, was reported to have been killed along with several of his loyal militants during clashes with the Syrian army.

Another militant filed commander from Kataeb al-Mostafa armed group named Bilal Taleb al-Daghar was also reported to have been found dead after clashes in Deir ez-Zor.

Syrian army has been struggling with al-Nusra insurgents in south and east of the country, moving steadily forward to free occupied towns and villages.

The war in Syria started in March 2011, when pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of Western and regional states.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.
