According to a report by the Syria Truth, following commands issued by militant commander Abdul Jabbar Akidi who is head of the so-called rebel military council in Aleppo, groups of extremist militants attacked Tall `Aran and Tall Hasel, killing and abducting many people and forcing others to leave.
Videos posted online by the militant groups showed hundreds of women and children in Tall `Aran, lying dead on the ground after their homes and plant fields were bombed.
Militants stole valuable items from the houses in their raids and set many of the buildings on fire.
Local sources said that other than many who were abducted by attackers, some three thousands residents had to leave their homes and they were seeking shelter in surrounding agriculture fields and valleys.
In a leaked video of a meeting of militant groups in Aleppo, Akidi had threatened to attack Kurds if it was required by their plans.
Residents said the brutal attack on their homes reminded them of the Kurdish genocide, called al-Anfal Campaign, committed by slain Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in the late 1980s.
The genocidal was a deadly campaign against the Kurdish people (and other non-Arab populations) in northern Iraq, led by Saddam Hussein and headed by Ali Hassan al-Majid in the final stages of Iran-Iraq War.
Thousands of civilians were killed during the anti-insurgent campaigns stretching from the spring of 1987 through the fall of 1988.
Aleppo has turned to the last stronghold of foreign-backed militants following Syrian army’s continuous victories against terrorist and insurgent groups in other parts of the country, especially the vast province of Homs.
Aleppo shares a long border line with Turkey which has been one of the main regional supporters of the war against Syria.
The province holds main supply routes for the militants to transfer arms and foreign forces to other parts of the country.
There are several towns in Aleppo that have been under a strict siege by militants for more than a year, depriving them from all kinds of humanitarian supplies.
People have been surviving on their savings for months and there are warnings of humanitarian crisis in some areas due to severe shortage of food and medicine.
The war in Syria started in March 2011, when pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of Western and regional states.
