In an interview with al-Alam, Frank Lamp, a US writer as well as political analyst, said building us pressure by Western satellite companies to take Iranian channels off the air is also a clear violation of international communication regulations.
The analyst also urged the immediate actions of international communication unions as well as the United Nations to halt such illegal acts of satellite companies.
He said the main reason behind such acts is emanated from the pressure inserted by Zionist lobby and some political figures within US government on satellite companies.
Describing the act as ‘sheer political move’, Lamp said the US has previously been involved in such acts in which it has even forbidden the medicine exports to Iran and Syria.
A number of Western satellite firms pulled the plug on several Iranian television channels on Monday.
The Intel Sat Company, Eutelsat 8 and Galaxy 19 as well as HotBird 13B stopped broadcasting Al Alam.
Meanwhile, satellite companies Hotbird 13-B, Eutelsat 25-C, Eutelsat 21-B, Eutelsat 8-West-A, Intelsat 20, Galaxy 19, and Optus D-2 also removed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s English news channel Press TV.
Iran’s Spanish-language channel Hispan TV was also removed from satellites Eutelsat 8-West-A, Eutelsat 7-West-A, and Intelsat 21.
Al-Alam Network and other Iranian channels have come under an unprecedented wave of attacks by European governments and satellite companies since January 2012.
