Twin bomb attacks kill 14 in Damascus

At least 14 people have been killed in double explosions that hit a police station in central Damascus.

The official television channel Al-Ikhbariya said the two bomb explosions hit the Syrian capital on Tuesday morning, causing an unknown number of injuries.

The terror attacks struck the Marjeh square in central Damascus.

Residents in the area said police were among the victims as the blasts took place near the Department of Immigration and Passports.

Militants in Syria have on different occasions targeted government buildings and residential areas in recent months.
