In a statement released on Thursday fallowing Syrian army’s successes in defeating foreign-backed terrorist and militant groups in the strategic border town, Hezbollah Movement’s deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem said, "the current war (in Syria) has only one meaning and that is confronting with the regime of Israel and those who serve it."
After nearly two weeks of intense clashes between the terrorists and Syrian soldiers, the town, which was one of the main bastions of the terrorist al-Nusra Front and other militant groups, was freed from occupiers and came under complete control of the army.
“Today it was proved that thinking about the fall of Syrian government is a delusion, he said adding that the American and Zionist plans in Syria “are doomed to fail.”
He hailed Syrian army’s victory as a hard blow to “the trilateral American-Zionist-Takfiri plot” which turned in benefit of the resistance in Syria.
“International and regional propaganda cannot change historic and geographic truths” in the region, he added.
In the past two months, the Syrian army has moved steadily against the terrorists in key battleground areas, making advances near the border with Lebanon and considerably lowering the threat to Damascus.
