IAEA Board urged not to politicize Iran case

The Iranian ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ali Asghar Soltaniyeh has advised some members of IAEA Board of Governors to refrain from politicizing the agency’s atmosphere.

Addressing the Board of Governors on the first day of its seasonal gathering at the Vienna Headquarters on Monday, Soltaniyeh referred to the great achievements of Iran under close supervision of the IAEA tight inspections, saying that, ˈA few countries have not managed to digest the realities and accept the fact that Iran has fully mastered the enrichment technology, while fully cooperating with the agency.ˈ


Soltaniyeh advised the ambassadors of few western courtiers opposed to Iranˈs peaceful nuclear program, to refrain from politicizing the atmosphere of the agency and end the involvement of the UN Security Council in ˈthis totally technical issue.

 

He also referred to the IAEA Secretary General Yokia Amanoˈs new report in which he has not mentioned to any deviation in Iranˈs peaceful nuclear program, adding that ˈThis report clearly indicates the technical and scientific status of Iran in its peaceful nuclear activities and therefore carries an important message for the entire world nations.ˈ

 

He also emphasized, ˈIn fact this report is a clear indication of the fact that Iran is successfully pursuing its nuclear activities for peaceful purposes and that is the message it has for the world.ˈ

 

Recent report of the UN nuclear watchdog Yokia Amano on Iranˈs peaceful nuclear activities in 14 pages and 72 paragraphs was handed out at the IAEA Board of Governors to the member countriesˈ representative last week.

 

This report is going to be surveyed at the Seasonal Session of the IAEA Board of Governors, scheduled to be held from June 5th to 8th.
