In a phone conversation with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Sunday, Moallem discussed the situation in Syria’s western town of al-Qusayr which was one of the main bastions of terrorist al-Nusra Front.
Moallem said that he is surprised by "the rising voices on the situation in al-Qusayr, whereas we didn't hear this worry when the terrorists seized the city and its countryside and committed the ugliest crimes against the citizens for over 18 months" SANA news agency quoted him.
He said that Syrian authorities will allow the Red Cross, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, to enter al-Qusayr immediately after the military operations end there.
Fallowing army operations to save Qusayr residents from terrorists who had made life unbearable for the residents for several months, the Red Cross said on Sunday that they are “alarmed” over the situation in al-Qusayr.
Moallem said the army is trying to help the citizens get rid of terrorist groups and wants to restore security and stability to the town and its countryside areas.
Many militants have been killed in the army operation which started on May 19 and many have fled the area.
However defeated militant groups have called on their companions to reach to Qusayr and fight against the army.
