Four rockets fired by foreign-backed militants in Syria have hit Lebanon's eastern Bekaa region.

"Four rockets struck in the area between Saraain al-Fawqa and Saraain al-Tahta near the Rayaq airport," a Lebanese security source speaking on condition of anonymity told AFP on Saturday.
"The rockets were fired from Syrian territory. There were no casualties," he added.

Rocket attacks blamed on foreign-backed militants in Syria have repeatedly targeted Lebanese border areas.

Last week, a girl died and a women sustained injury after three mortar rounds fired by militants in Syria struck near the eastern town of Hermel in Bekaa region.

The region is a stronghold of the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has repeatedly warned those who support the unrest in his country that danger threatens every country in the region and if militants take power in Syria, they could destabilize the entire Middle East

In an interview recently broadcast on Turkish television, Mr. Assad said “If the unrest in Syria leads to the partitioning of the country, or if the terrorist forces take control… the situation will inevitably spill over into neighboring countries and create a domino effect throughout the Middle East and beyond,” the Syrian president stated.
