In an interview with Lebanese al-Manar TV on Monday, al-Zoubi said that Syrian government is optimistic yet cautious about current international debates on solving the crisis in Syria, apparently referring to the planned conference on the Middle Eastern country due in Geneva.
He said the government needs to know if US initiatives about the crisis “is really a sole choice for the Americans and their allies in secret and in public" .
Al-Zoubi said for any political solution there are military aspects to be considered as well, including the Israeli aggression on some sites in Syria and the bombings of al-Rihaniya city in Turkey where the Turkish officials rushed to accuse Syria.
He also raised skepticism about Turkey and Qatar’s intentions in the talks asking are they ready “to lose all the funds and weapons they offered to undermine Syria in vain”.
The Syria crisis began in March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of soldiers and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
The Syrian government says that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
