Iran to hold presidential election in 120 countries

Iran has managed to hold its 11th presidential elections in 120 countries for those Iranians who are living abroad and wish to cast their ballots.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates' Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said on Monday that "The Iranian presidential election abroad will be held at 280 ballot stations in 120 countries on five continents concurrent with Iran".

 

Qashqavi, who also heads the Supervisory Body Overseeing Iran's Presidential Election Abroad, noted that voting in every country will begin at 8:00 a.m. local time on June 14.

 

Qashqavi said Iranian expatriates can vote in the next election with valid Iranian passports.

 

The 11th presidential election will take place on June 14, 2013. The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election.
