British military scientists have found forensic evidence that chemical weapons have been used in the conflict in Syria nearly a month after foreign-backed terrorists fired a shell possibly containing chemical substance in Aleppo province.
A soil sample that was taken from Khan al-Assal close to Damascus and smuggled back to Britain by the British spying apparatus (MI6) has provided proof that "some kind of chemical weapon" had been fired, al-Alam News Channel quoted the UK-based Times newspaper as saying.
The report cited an unnamed military source as saying: "Chemical-weapon and biologic researchers have identified these chemical substances but they have not revealed the news yet”. Foreign-backed terrorists fired a chemical weapon shell in Khan al-Assal region on March 19 which led to the death of 25 Syrians and left nearly 100 injured.
Syrian Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi said at the time that Turkey and Qatar are legally and morally responsible for the chemical attack by terrorists, adding “the terrorist act of firing chemicals-containing missile into Aleppo was very dangerous”.
“This crime is the first outcome of the decisions made in the meeting of the Arab League ministers”, al-Zoubi noted.
Reports had been published in various media outlets before the chemical attack saying that Qatar was seeking to provide terrorist groups and armed insurgents in Syria with weapons.
A leaked report from a British security company also revealed that that it has received an offer from Qatar requiring chemical weapons to be transferred from Libya to Syrian city of Homs.
Observers do not reject reports that some regional states might have equipped al-Qaeda affiliated terror groups in Syria with chemical weapons; as in this way, they can accuse the Syrian government and prepare the ground for foreign intervention in the Arab Middle Eastern country.
