US intelligence agency has involved in training the Syrian militant group in weapon use and urban combat in Jordan.

According to al-Alam news agency quoted a report released on The Guardian newspaper on Monday, the expanded CIA operation in Syria is part of a wider effort by Western agencies to train more militants to fight against Syrian government.

The report said the CIA is trying to separate its own-led rebel elements from other militant groups affiliated to al-Qaida terrorist groups, such as al-Nasra Front.

The report noted that CIA believes al-Qaida extremist groups are seeking to get upper hands within the chaos created by foreign elements’ involvement in the war-torn country.

Some of the rebels trained under CIA surveillance are situated near Golan border to separate the areas congested by the Zionists forces from the area controlled by terrorist group of al-Nasra Front, the report said citing unnamed US officials and rebel commanders.

The CIA has selected some small rebel units from the so-called Free Syrian Army to receive combat training and fresh intelligence they can act upon.
