Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has warned against the adverse consequences of the foreigners’ presence in the region, reaffirming the Islamic Republic’s constant readiness to defend its borders.

“If the presence of trans-regional powers causes an incident in our region, we will be ready to fully protect our borders,” Vahidi told reporters on Thursday.

He called on the officials of regional countries, particularly Islamic states, to prevent the influence of Western and hegemonic powers in their own affairs.

Vahidi further noted that Iran would unveil its first space observatory, named Imam Sadeq (PBUH) (the sixth Shiite Imam), within the next few days during Ten-Day Dawn festivities, marking the victory in 1979 of the Islamic Revolution.

He added that the latest Iranian-made fighter jet and new missile products would also be unveiled in the near future.
