(IRNA) -- The 'No' which was said to the US administration by the participating nations in the UNSC emergency meeting on Iran held after Trump's call, was another defeat of Washington in foreign policy and in the regional and global arenas, Bahram Qasemi told reporters during a weekly press briefing.
'The global community and the members of the UNSC did show that the new era is different, and that they don't follow Trump and the US.'
US President Donald Trump's move to refer the internal affair of a country [Iran] to the UN Security Council, which faced a 'big no', can be another lesson to the US president, Qasemi added.
A day after the emergency meeting held at the UN on recent unrests in Iran on Friday, the Iranian foreign minister tweeted “The UNSC rebuffed the US' naked attempt to hijack its mandate.'
'Majority emphasized the need to fully implement the JCPOA and to refrain from interfering in internal affairs of others. Another FP [foreign policy] blunder for the Trump administration,” Zarif wrote.
