(AMN) -- The Houthi forces began their assault by storming the Yakhtul area that is located just north of the Mocha Coast in the Ta’iz Governorate.

Despite heavy airstrikes from the Saudi Coalition, the Houthi forces were able to capture most of the Yakhtul area, forcing the Southern Resistance fighters to retreat south towards the Mocha Coast.

Video footage of this advance was released by the Houthis on Friday; this short film shows their fighters capturing a Southern Resistance base and destroying two vehicles with an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM)
