Abdul Sattar al-Habo was quoted by al-Ma'aloumeh news as saying that at least 2,000 ISIL terrorists have been killed since October 17 when the Iraqi forces and popular forces kicked off the Mosul Liberation Operation; FNA reporrted.
He further added that after Iraqi forces intensified operations in the region, around 160 members of ISIL have been killed each day.
Al-Habo went on to say that the number of ISIL fatalities went high since all their escape routes have been found and blocked, specially the road from the back of Mosul.
A security source in Nineveh province disclosed earlier today that an Iraqi combat drone bombed a gathering of ISIL in Mosul, killing at least 20 terrorists and wounding several more.
"An Iraqi CH4 drone targeted a concentration center of ISIL militants in Kornish region in the Tigris River's right bank, leaving at least 20 terrorists dead," the source said.
"It was the first time that this model of drone targeted ISIL's position in the right bank of the river in Mosul," the source pointed out.
