The primary objective for this upcoming offensive is to seize one of the last strongholds for the ISIS in central Iraq.
Due to Hawija's proximity to the strategic city of Tikrit, this offensive will not only expel ISIS from Kirkuk-Salahiddeen (Salahuddin) border, but also, build a buffer-zone around the aforementioned provincial capital.
This battle is expected to start in the next 72 hours, as the Iraqi Armed Forces make their final preparations at the outskirts of Hawija.
