"Our forces managed to seize an underground arms depot of the ISIL in Doulab district of the city of Heet after receiving intelligence tips from local residents," Brigadier General Zarij said.
He said that the ISIL's arms depot contained a large number heavy and light weapons, including 13 bombs, 9 Katyusha rockets and 12 gallons of flammable materials.
On Wednesday, Iraq's joint military forces continued their advances against the ISIL terrorist group in al-Ramadi region, and seized back a strategic district in the Northern part of the city on Wednesday.
Al-Tarabsheh region in the Northern part of Ramadi city is now under the Iraqi forces' full control.
Iraq's joint military sources also destroyed the terrorists' military hardware, including two armored vehicles and several motorcycles, in the village of Bou Ali in Northern Ramadi city.
Meantime, the Iraqi fighter jets destroyed an ISIL convoy comprising 26 different vehicles in Ana district in Western al-Ramadi, killing 40 ISIL terrorists.
The ISIL captured the Ramadi city and its surrounding areas on May 15, 2015, but the Iraqi volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) managed to recapture it on December 28, 2015; FNA reported.
