"Albu Assaf region in Ramadi has been the scene of Iraq's joint military forces' operations since Monday morning," a senior Iraqi security source said on Monday.
Meantime, the Iraqi military sources said that the country's forces took full control of Bu Ali Jassem region in the Northern part of Ramadi city as clashes are still underway in other parts of Anbar province.
At least 14 ISIL (ISIS/IS/Daesh) terrorists were killed when the Iraqi air force pounded the ISIL's military positions in Bu Ali Jassem region.
Another 17 ISIL terrorists were killed in al-Sakran region in the Western part of Ramadi as they were trying to launch an attack on a security post there.
The Iraqi military sources also said that 7 ISIL terrorists were killed when their positions in al-Bokareh region came under Iraqi army's offensive.
The ISIL captured the Ramadi city and its surrounding areas on May 15, 2015, but the Iraqi volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) managed to recapture it on December 28, 2015; FNA reported.
