Following the rapid collapse of the ceasefire in Syria, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has turned its attention to Syria's largest city of Aleppo.
Major reinforcements have arrived on the outskirts of rebel-held districts in eastern Aleppo; More than 1,750 soldiers from the SAA's 106th Brigade of the Republican Guard and 4th Mechanized Division are now deployed there while an unconfirmed report alleges upwards of 3,000 Russian conscripts will also take part in the battle.
With fresh advances ongoing in the Ramouseh district as we speak, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) is said to have conducted some 45 airstrikes on Aleppo's rebel factions in the past 24 hours.
In the days to come, the SAA and its allies are expected to attack beleaguered Islamist rebels in Aleppo from entirely new flanks in an effort to retake the city entirely, "SouthFront" reports.
