He stressed that Iran will stand by the Iraqi government and nation under any circumstances and hoped Mosul rescue operation to start with the unity and the participation of all Iraqi groups, especially indigenous forces in Nineveh province.
Shamkhani added, the Iraqi government and nation have been successful in the battle against ISIS and terrorism so far and expressed confidence that the liberation of Mosul will be the beginning of stability, peace, national and territorial unity in Iraq.
The Iranian official noted, a united Iraq is a place with different tribes and ethnic groups, and defeating ISIS will strength the national unity between Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds.
Shamkhani said, the facts show that ISIS action is in contrast with its slogans and claims, and they impacted Sunni people economically, socially and even politically more than other ethnics in Iraq.
He said, presence and active participation of moderate Sunnis in political and administrative structure of Iraq is an unavoidable obligation and added, a commitment to democracy to all groups on the basis of democratic entitlement is a way to unity and stability in the country.
