The Syrian army units and popular forces have found and have confiscated a large amount of US-made weapons in Aleppo used by terrorists in the region.

The cache belonged to the two notorious terrorist groups of ISIL and Fatah al Sham Front (newly formed al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists group previously known as al Nusra Front).

Footages released by the Syrian army showed grenades, anti tank TOW 2 missiles, mortar launchers, artilleries and other types of weapons and ammunitions inside the depot.

Also, in June, the Syrian army officials found a large cache full of US-made weapons destined for the terrorists deployed in Damascus province.

The depot was discovered and destroyed by the Syrian officials after intense intelligence operations, a source said at the time.

He added that the large cache included different types of mid and small US made machine guns and long-range sniper guns as well as anti-tank RPGs.

The same weapons are used by the militant groups in Syria against the residential areas.

Earlier today, the Russian Defense Ministry website said that terrorists of ISIL and al-Nusra Front group shelled inhabited areas in the Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Damascus.

"Within the last 24 hours, terrorists have shelled the trade center "Costello", as well as al-Khalidiyah, Lairamoun, and al-Assad quarters as well as al-Nairab airport in Aleppo city with improvised MLRS (multiple launch rocket systems) and mortars. Terrorists have also shelled following inhabited areas: Duma, Arbil, Housh al-Farah, Bahariyah, Hodeida al-Jarash, and Abd Beinuri in the Damascus province," the ministry said.

During the weekend, the terrorist groups also shelled inhabited areas in the Syrian provinces of Aleppo, Damascus and Hama, FNA reported.
