Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan decided to widen the search for coup conspirators on Tuesday by arresting and firing teachers, deans, and members of the media.
In addition to these arrests, the Erodgan regime has demanded the U.S. government Fetullah Gulen Extradition for his alleged role in this coup – he has denied any role in this.
US-based preacher Fethullah Gulen has urged Washington to reject Turkey's efforts to extradite him and labelled as "ridiculous" the claim he was behind an attempted coup.
Turkey will convene the National Security Council Today in Ankara.
“Our government is in an important preparation and hopefully we will convene the National Security Council on Wednesday”, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said according to APA.
Following the meetings, the Council of Ministers will gather and “announce an important decision”, he said. “I will not tell you now," he added.
"We will hopefully overcome this process one way or another. Now, efforts are going on in a very good way,” he said.
Meanwhile WikiLeaks releases thousands of private Turkish government emails following failed coup.
WIKILEAKS has released hundreds of thousands of private emails from Turkey's ruling AKP party following President Erdogan's brutal response to the coup.
Also the high council of radio and television of Turkey has withdrawn the licenses from more than 20 mass media sources.
According to Anadolu news agency, the closing is connected with the coup attempt.
"Such channels as STV, Samanyolu Haber, Samanyolu Haber Radyo, Kanal Türk, Kanal 124, Yumurcak TV, Burç FM, Radyo Mehtap have been closed.
