Heavy rains from Tropical Storm Colin have hit northern Florida and southern Georgia, knocking out power in some areas and flooding roads on the Gulf coast, Al-Alam News Network reports.
The National Hurricane Centre said the storm was moving north-northeast at 23 miles per hour (37 kilometers per hour) and its center was about 35 miles (56 kilometers) south-southeast of Apalachicola at 8pm local time on Monday (0000GMT on Tuesday).
Maximum sustained winds were measured at 50 miles (80 kilometers) per hour with higher gusts.
