Sources on the ground also reported fierce clashes between the Lebanese army forces and ISIL terrorists which ended in more casualties being imposed on terrorists, and the Lebanese soldiers managed to drive back ISIL terrorists further to win back control over a key hilltop on the outskirts of Ras Baalbek from the terrorist previously lurking there
One source told the Lebanese local media that clashes erupted at dawn when ISIL attacked army posts on the outskirts of Wadi Rafeq, midway between Ras Baalbek and Al-Qaa. The military was prepared for an imminent attack, having previously obtained heads-up information.
The army, accompanied by helicopters, later managed to take control of a hilltop in the area, known as Tallet 46, inflicting heavy losses on the extremist group's ranks.
Also, violent clashes took place during the night between the Lebanese army and Daesh terrorists, precisely on Khalaf heights where the Army succeeded to abolish a command center for those terrorists in that area, LNA reported.
